Inhabiting the Mediterranean
Gallery 1. IVAM. 2018

One of the IVAM exhibitions that I liked the most in recent years is “Inhabiting the Mediterranean.” Through art, it showed the architecture and urban planning of different Mediterranean cities (in Lebanon, Syria, Palestine…) and the ways of life that they take in. It did not do this in a friendly and sweetened way, but undressing their disgraces in the form of walls, executions, dictators, refugee camps, bunkers and urban aberrations, which tarnish the friendly face of a culture open to the outside through squares, patios, lattices and balconies. Balconies – a treasure for these days of confinement.
