This exhibition explores the realities of the Arab world since the nineties, seen through the different perspectives of female artists. Also there are works included on reflecting the construction of femininity by men.
It is revealed the political capacity for transformation of women as social agents, through the use of devices such as photography and video.
Four are the conceptual axes of this project: Private spaces, personal areas; The body, the desire, the sexuality; Places and symbols of the public, and finally, history, its folds and conflicts. Among the participating artists are works by Nadia Benchallal, Mona Hatoum, Ghada Amer, Nermine Hammam, Zohra Bensemra, Diana El Jeiroudi, Farida Hamak, Amal Kenawy, Tamara Abdul Hadi, Zineb Sedira, Raeda Saadeh, Ahlam Shibli, Mohammed Soueid, Akram Zaatari, Leila Alaoui, Rana El Nemr, Rula Halawani, Randa Maddah, and Nidaa Badwan.
