IVAM presents the exhibition dedicated to Mona Hatoum, winner of the 2020 Julio Gonzalez Prize

The exhibition brings together sculptures and large installations created in the last two decades by the artist, who comes from Palestine and was born in Beirut.

The director of the IVAM, Nuria Enguita, and the curator, José Miguel G. Cortés, have presented to the media the exhibition dedicated to the artist Mona Hatoum, winner of the 2020 Julio González Prize. The exhibition, which will be on display from April 16 to September 12, is a tribute to an artist “who we consider key to understanding contemporary art today”, according to the director of IVAM. She pointed out that Mona Hatoum “is the second woman awarded in the twenty-year history of the Julio González Prize, an award that has recognized artists such as George Baselitz, Robert Rauschenberg, Pierre Soulages, Miquel Navarro, Jasper Johns, Christian Boltanski, Annette Messager or Andreu Alfaro”.
