The activity titled “Art is Small too” complements the educational workshops already held at the IVAM. This activity has begun in february 2003. The minimum age for participation of these was 5 years of age, whereas the one titled “Art is Small too” is intended for three- and four-year-olds attending nursery school. The activity will be carried out at all schools that request it, so that the children will not have to be moved. Due to the characteristics of this activity, it will be held in Valencia and its metropolitan area. This incentive aims to fill a gap that exists in nursery school education. The activities carried out at this stage are specifically tailored for this age group, adapted to the work style and rhythm of each child. The classroom is the ideal place to perform the activity, since children’s first introduction to art should take place in their usual work place, trying to present them with a different interpretation of the colours and forms from the ones they usually learn at school This activity may be requested several times for the same class by a school so that the students may acquire a suitable preparation to participate later in the educational workshops organised by the museum. At the same time, it covers an area that has not been addressed previously, working with children at nursery school. The project has been created and developed by Pilar Ortí and Santiago Ruiz of Sin Sin Creativos.
