The workshop takes lasts 1h. 30 min per group. These workshops are addressed to all types of public: students, adults, occupational centres, etc
The educational workshop about " The Abstraction in the Collection of the IVAM " will allow the participants to familiarize with the art of the 20th century, of the hand of a group of artists who developed his way of working around the abstraction and knowing the different sensibilities that impregnated this artistic current. They will work with the schematization of the dutch artist Van der Lek, later, Sophie Taeuber-Arp's geometric work and her, architectural applications, will be know up to coming to Gerardo Rueda's work and his relationship with that of the swiss painter Paul Klee. The didactic workshop begins with the visualization of a video on Bart Van der Lek's work, which was using naturalistic forms taken from the reality and was taking them to a degree of geometric radical stylization. To fulfil this "decomposición", the artist was fulfilling a severe esquematización of the image, using the primary colors. After the visualization of the video, they will be work in group on the walls of the didactic workshop. These walls will be painted in white as if they were infinite linens, and on them there will be placed a few rectangular pieces of different colors on that the participants will be fixing to create their own compositions. These pieces remember the work of the swiss artist Sophie Tauber-Arp who developed an own pictorial abstract and geometric work based on rectangles and squares of bright and flat colors. To finish, Gerardo Rueda's work, will be worked for it they will have a box support where they will have to go placing small boxes of carton that they will have to color before, this way they will realize their own composition that they will be able to take with once ended.
